My Road to Rio
I'm a 20 year old cyclist, living in Northen California when I'm not traveling for races! I race a road season from March to June and a track season August to February. This fund will help me stay 100% focused on being the best cyclist I can be. Recently I have realized that I need to see a chiropractor/physical therapist to help take care of some lingering injuries from old accidents. This fund will help me continue to be able to take care of my body and stay strong in my training to make the 2016 Rio Olympic Track Team.
Passion for the Sport Started Early
I started riding in 2008 as a junior. My parents both ride and it only seemed natural that I started riding with them. It's an addicting sport, soon I was at the bike races and wanting to see how far I could take it. The reason I fell in love with cycling is because of the fun and enjoyment I get from hanging out with friends and family on the bike. I think it's the most fun going for long rides and "playing" on the bike. My passion for racing comes from my desire to be good at the sport. When I went to my first Junior Nationals in 2009 and won the road race, that definitely sparked a fire to want to repeat that amazing feeling of crossing the finish line first. It came again in 2010 at Junior Track Nationals in the scratch race, and so I'm always on the hunt for that sense of accomplishment.
Ride With U.S. Matching Grant
My RallyMe campaign is getting an extra boost thanks to a dedicated matching grant provided by the USA Cycling Development Foundation. That means for every dollar I raise on RallyMe, it will be doubled up to $2,500. I was one of 10 elite U.S. women cyclists chosen by a selection committee of USA Cycling coaches and staff to take part in this matching grant program. With your support I could raise at least $5,000 to help pay for travel and training costs for the 2014 racing season.
I have to give the biggest thanks to my parents, everyday they continue to support me. Big thanks to my team this year, UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling. It's a great team and it is a huge honor to be apart of such a supportive team.
